Remarkable News

Dear Gentle Readers,
(if you can’t tell, I’ve been watching Bridgerton to pass the time. I wish I were writing this by quill, as Lady Whistledown does.)*

My watch history is banal news compared to the following I received from my oncologist:

“Dear Megan Posner,
…Your cancer is showing a remarkable response to treatment. Mass is now 9.7 x 3.6 cm from 17.5 x 11.6 cm.”

This means the treatment is working. The Stranger** is nearly half of its original size. These results arrive after cycle 2 of 6.

Take that, rewind it back, Meg & her oncology team got the gumption to make that stranger go zap! (thank you, Usher)

I feel an immense glowy-white energy pulsating out when I write in this blog. It connects me to others as I navigate through the strangest and most difficult forest I’ve foraged in my thirty-six years of life. When I received this positive news, I thought of you, reader. Of you gallantly and graciously standing firm in my corner. I believe you are just as much to thank as my team of doctors and nurses.

Thank you, and I love you, and I see you.

With love and good news,
Nutmeg

*Did you know Bridgeton season 5 will have a sapphic love story at its center! So. down.

**Stay tuned for more on how I would personify The Stranger as a character in, say, a play. Spoiler alert, they definitely have hair fashioned into a skullet-ponytail. They definitely watch YouTube videos on the bus without headphones.

Sporting a knit cap made by the wife of my co-worker. She’s an absolute gem and an excellent cook as well!
